Antennal responses of black plum sawfly (Hoplocampa minuta) to European plum (Prunus domestica) flower volatiles

چکیده

Abstract Black plum sawfly ( Hoplocampa minuta ) is an important pest species of Prunus domestica ). In organic orchards, the yield loss caused by H. larval damage can reach almost 100% occasionally. Adults feed on pollen and nectar flower; therefore, we hypothesize that, besides visual cues, also olfaction plays role in habitat host finding. To understand chemical communication mediated flower volatiles to black sawflies, investigated signals released from flowers, which trigger peripheral physiological responses adult sawflies. First, using gas chromatography coupled with electroantennography (GC-EAD), selected 18 physiologically active compounds headspace volatile collection triggered male female antennae. Subsequently, determine volatilome identified those compounds, elicited responses, mass spectrometry (GC-MS). These antennally components could be candidates for potential kairomone, later used attracting males females contribute developing pesticide-free, effective monitoring lure kill strategy against this pest.

Transcriptomic Analysis of Prunus domestica Undergoing Hypersensitive Response to Plum Pox Virus Infection

Plum pox virus (PPV) infects Prunus trees around the globe, posing serious fruit production problems and causing severe economic losses. One variety of Prunus domestica, named 'Jojo', develops a hypersensitive response to viral infection. Here we compared infected and non-infected samples using next-generation RNA sequencing to characterize the genetic complexity of the viral population in infe...

“Evaluation of nutritional, phytochemical, antioxidant and antibacterial activity of dried plum (Prunus domestica)”

The nutritional, phytochemical, antioxidant and antibacterial activity of dried plum (Prunus domestica) were studied to understand its health benefits. The nutritional composition proved its potential as an energy source with low fat content. Protein and dietary fiber content obtained were 3.80% and 2.79% respectively. It was found to be a moderate source of minerals like magnesium, calcium, ir...

Chlorophyll Catabolites in Senescent Leaves of the Plum Tree (Prunus domestica)

In cold extracts of senescent leaves of the plum tree (Prunus domestica ssp. domestica), six colorless non-fluorescent chlorophyll catabolites (NCCs) were characterized, named Pd-NCCs. In addition, several minor NCC fractions were tentatively classified. The structure of the most polar one of the NCCs, named Pd-NCC-32, featured an unprecedented twofold glycosidation pattern. Three of the NCCs a...

Biological and Agronomical Characteristics of Local and Introduced Plum (Prunus domestica L.) Cultivars in Georgia

Plum local varieties and forms are widespread in all regions of Georgia. Despite the wide dissemination of this crop, the number of cultivars is not quite a lot. Due to this reason, study of cultivars has been carried out in a collection plot of the Scientific-Research Center of Agriculture, in village Jighaura. Eight plum (Prunus domestica L.) cultivars including: Amers, Bluefree, Chanchuri, E...
